Jaw surgery.
I never really went into detail with what happened. I tried to google correct names and stuff but that didn’t go well so you’re getting it in simple terms! ;)
Before surgery, my left lower jaw bone was longer than my right lower jaw bone. It shifted everything on my right side of my face making it higher than the left. It also started pulling apart my tmj. (that much medical terminology I know)
I had both upper and lower jaw surgery as well as a procedure on my chin. My upper jaws were brought down on one side and up on the other to make them even with each other. My lower jaws were both made shorter; one side by a lot and one side by a little. My chin was brought forward, re-shaped, and impacted. I have five titanium plates across all the places where they cut my bones.
I am a week and a half post-op and so far I’ve lost 14 pounds. I have nine days left of super tight elastics. I am still swollen and very bruised. The surgery has taken a toll on me both physically and psychologically. I’ve vomited a lot which makes things worse as well.
I’ve been living off of 1% chocolate milk, 2% white milk, apple juice, raspberry kiwi fruitopia, and water. 3 glasses of milk, 2 fruitopia, 1 apple juice, 1-2 plain water. 2 liters of stuff daily.
The worst part is the nerves waking back up. It feels like your arm has fallen asleep, but much twitchier. And those twitches hurt. Sometimes my whole jaw moves, which isn’t pleasant. Did I mention that since they cut through my sinuses those are all messed up too? Yeah. Lovely.
All in all, it wasn’t that bad but it certainly wasn’t great either.
